Date Syrup

Ingredients:

1 cup dates large dried Medjool dates, pitted
1 cup filtered water

Directions:
Remove pits and stems from dates.
Heat water to warm temperature.
Place dates in bowl and cover with warm water.
Let sit for about 15 minutes
Add dates and soaking water to blender.


Blend for about 1 minute or until desired consistency. 


Use in place of other syrups and honey.

Substitutions:
Other dates would also work well. Experiment for different flavors and sweetness levels.

No-Oil Balsamic-Lime Vinaigrette

Ingredients:

3/4 cup of Balsamic Vinegar
¼ cup pure organic lime juice
4 tablespoons unhulled sesame seeds
3 Tablespoons of Nutritional Yeast
1 tablespoon red miso
1 tablespoon carob syrup (carob and water)
½ tablespoon fresh organic oregano leaves
½ tablespoon dried Italian seasoning

Directions:
Blend on low setting in blender for 30 seconds. Enjoy!

Substitutions:​

You can substitute the carob syrup with date syrup, molasses or maple syrup.

You can substitute the sesame seeds for tahini (1:1 ratio).
